Compensation Fund

As a member of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), TIOmarkets clients are automatically protected by the Commission’s Investor Compensation Fund. This independent safeguard acts as an insurance policy, covering eligible claims if a broker ever fails to honour a ruling. It’s an extra layer of trust and transparency, ensuring your trading experience with TIOmarkets is backed by fairness and security in case of insolvency.

  • We’re a member of the ICF

  • Up to €20,000 coverage

  • Quick & fair complaints process

  • Neutral third-party oversight

  • What is the compensation fund?

The Investor Compensation Fund is a financial protection mechanism operated by the CySEC , an independent external dispute resolution (EDR) organization. The Investor Compensation Fund is not managed by TIOmarkets, but rather by the CySEC itself.

The purpose of the fund is to act as an insurance policy for traders if a member broker, such as TIOmarkets, fails, under certain circumstances, to comply with a ruling made by CySEC. This ensures that you, as a client, have a reliable, neutral avenue to resolve disputes fairly and efficiently, outside of traditional regulators and lengthy legal processes.

  • Are you eligible for the compensation fund?

Clients of brokers who are members of the Investor Compensation Fund (ICF), including TIOmarkets, are covered by the Compensation Fund. Eligibility applies when:

    • A dispute has been reviewed by the ICF.

    • A ruling has been issued in the trader’s favor.

    • The broker fails to honor the ruling.

The fund does not cover normal trading losses, market fluctuations, or errors made by traders.

  • What are the steps?

    1. Raise your concern with TIOmarkets directly. Most disputes are resolved internally.
    2. If unresolved, submit a complaint to the Investor Compensation Fund.
    3. The ICF will investigate, review evidence, and issue a ruling.
    4. If the broker fails to comply with the ruling, the Investor Compensation Fund is used to pay the client, up to the maximum coverage limit.
  • What is the maximum coverage?

The Investor Compensation Fund covers rulings of up to €20,000 per client, as determined by the ICF Directive. This provides traders with reassurance when trading with member brokers like TIOmarkets.

  • Is the Investor Compensation Fund the same as deposit protection?

No. The fund only applies to ICF rulings and does not cover general market or broker insolvency losses.

  • Why does the Investor Compensation Fund matter?

At TIOmarkets, the Investor Compensation Fund adds an extra layer of trust and transparency, giving traders independent recourse in case of disputes.
